Top 5 Dog-Friendly Spots in Dublin (and Tips for Visiting!)

Hey everyone! As a proud Dublin dog parent, I’m always looking for places where my furry friend, Rosie, and I can enjoy some quality time together. Dublin actually has quite a few fantastic spots if you know where to look!

Here are my top 5 picks for dog-friendly places in and around Dublin, along with a little tip for each:

  1. Phoenix Park: Massive space, perfect for long walks. Tip: Keep an eye out for deer, especially with reactive dogs!
  2. St. Anne’s Park (Raheny): Beautiful grounds, has a dedicated dog park area. Tip: Can get very busy on weekends.
  3. Howth Cliff Walk: Stunning views, but keep dogs on a lead due to cliffs and wildlife. Tip: Wear sturdy shoes – it can be muddy!
  4. Dollymount Strand (Bull Island): Great for a beach run, usually dog-friendly. Tip: Check tide times, as the beach can disappear at high tide.
  5. Ticknock Forest (Dublin Mountains): Fantastic hiking trails. Tip: Be mindful of mountain bikers and livestock in certain areas.

What are your favourite dog-friendly parks or spots in Ireland? Any hidden gems outside of Dublin you’d recommend?
